victory

You might think that it might not be such a big deal to finish nursing Nathaniel at 11:00 p.m. last night, go to sleep, and then wake up when he woke up again at 5:00 a.m.

But you would be very, very wrong. That's six, count 'em, SIX hours of uninterrupted sleep for me, something I haven't experienced since August.

Sleeping through the night, for at least a minimal definition of night, has been achieved. I feel like I just won the New York City Marathon.

Definitely a Big Deal! And it keeps getting better...eventually you will be up to 7 or 8 hours of sleep and will start to feel human again, as opposed to being one of the walking dead;) Congrats on a night's sleep!

Yay!!!

I'm curious -- is hubby able to sleep through you getting up in the middle of the night?  We used to trade off (pump before bed so that there was milk for the middle of the night such that Dad could 'nurse').

Congratulations, deah, you've earned the right to be joyful about this milestone. Do take the other commenter's counsel to heart and start pumping so hubby can do a middle of the night feeding -- no sense in him not being sleep deprived for the next 18 to 21 years , too.

That's right - until they reach adulthood. There's such a myriad of possible outcomes to obsess about, who has time for sleep?

Right now, my husband does most of the night changing and I do all the night nursing.  It seems to work pretty well, but Nathaniel is also very easy at night. He doesn't usually stay up long, so the interruptions are short and we still sleep pretty well.
