it's that time of year

I gained a bit on Monday, which means those of you of a more geeky persuasion now know how old I am. La la la, time marches on and all that.

But really, the time of year that it really is, and that's the most important, not any of this bit twiddling nonsense, is EXAM time. I say it in caps because boy does it feel like a caps-worthy occasion when you are a 1L.

Best of luck to all of you exam-takers. I would say I'm nostalgic for law school exams, but I'd be lying. Law school, yes. Exams, no. The best thing about exams is that they end and then you have that glorious period of time you'll miss tremendously when you're working: winter break.

You're almost there. Really.

I'm hoping, though, that despite the lack of winter break the holiday might be a *bit* more enjoyable once I'm done with school. Because this year and for the past 2, Christmas is so stressful - I study for finals and once they're over I barely have enough time to scramble and get ready for Christmas (presents, cards, etc...). Hope this isn't just wishful thinking!

Hm, I found that the holiday season was much more stressful when I was working, if only because I had to shop when everybody else did and I had to work right up until the holiday. The free time I had in school more than made up for the stress of exams. But I understand lots of folks feel otherwise.

I fear my geekiness may be lacking here... do I correctly interpret that you just had a birthday?  If so, Happy (belated) birthday!

It's funny -- even though I am a 1L, I am so not stressed about exams.  Of course, having said that, I don't think I'll miss them, either, when I'm finally done with them.

When are you planning to go back to school?
