My body has been playing tricks on me. I've been having contractions for two weeks now.
"False labor," my doctor cheerily said. "It could go on for another few weeks. Your body is practicing."
Does it want an outline too? Maybe a commercial study guide for my cervix?
I've been sitting on the edge of labor for two weeks now, unable to go
very far from the house because of the contractions and the heat wave
but mentally going crazy with the waiting. Add in the surging hormones,
the oh-my-God-there-is-a-baby-coming panic, and, well, let's just say
that it adds up to an edgy T.
When the hormones aren't making me weepy when I see babies on TV (true!
weird!), I find them fascinating. This entire process is tremendously
fascinating, actually. It's the coolest science project I've ever
embarked on.
I'm ready for my final exam, though. No more practice, please.

transmiflograw - What does this mean?.... I'd probably eat good food (organic.. , Say>>>No to pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides and say yes to organic foods, clothing, and bottled water - skip medications - sounds like you are having a nervous vagina/cervix). Next, I would have sexual relations with my hubbie. Gently start, You will be happy - hopefully and prayerfully - and the baby(ies) will be comforted.
We are all to some extent toxic because there is rampant use of chemicals to get "pefect" and mass-produced foods....slow it down folks. I'm 43 years old and I intend to have more children.
As long as your baby is in the womb and alive and doing well (baby may need to be monitored- just a little -check heart rate at least) he/she/they will be fine. My first born was past due, labor was induced. I regret this because he could have used some womb care. Honey, you and your baby just need time. Get a few good books about baby development in the womb - I'm away from this stage at the moment and do not know what is the latest...Usually - a family whose mother delivered lots of children may be helpful.... I hope and pray you all are blessed.
I write these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Not entirely related, but there was an interesting article in Slate about what (not) to eat when you're expecting: http://slate.msn.com/id/2106463/
Thanks -- great article!
